For each PCB replacement, the BIOS/ROM data from the original PCB must be transferred.
Two prices are available depending on where the replacement PCB comes from:
The transfer is performed by flashing and/or soldering depending on the model.
Important: BIOS/ROM transfer does not guarantee data recovery if the fault is not caused by the PCB.
Important — customized service and no guarantee of result: this service concerns work on the hard drive PCB and/or BIOS/ROM chip. It is performed with a duty of care, but without any guarantee that the hard drive will spin up, be detected by a computer, or that data will be accessible or recoverable.
If the initial fault is actually PCB-related, the intervention may allow temporary access to the drive in order to copy the data to a healthy device. However, if the fault comes from the heads, motor, preamplifier, platters, internal firmware or another internal defect, the drive may remain inaccessible even if the PCB/BIOS work is correctly performed.
BIOS/ROM transfer, chip programming or PCB adaptation is a customized service performed at the customer's request. Once the intervention has started or has been completed, the customized service part cannot be cancelled under the right of withdrawal.
